One To Watch: All you need to know about new Sheffield United signing Rhian Brewster

Rhian Brewster cannot wait to get going as Sheffield United prepare to unleash him on the Premier League.

Signed from Liverpool for £23.5million, the talented striker has yet to kick a ball in the English top flight.

Brewster, 20, had been linked with a host of clubs but the Blades convinced the Reds to sell after agreeing to include a buy-back clause in the deal.

And boss Chris Wilder is confident the England Under-21 international will solve his side's shortage of goals.

Wilder said: "At the top of the pitch we now have one of the country's hottest properties.

"He's a natural goalscorer. He finishes from any aspect, whether it is in the air or spectacular goals, free-kicks or off his shin.

"He has a lovely habit of scoring goals, which is crucial in the Premier League."

Brewster (pictured above) netted 11 goals in 22 Championship appearances for Swansea last season but knew his chances would be limited at Anfield due to Liverpool's strength up front.

While Jurgen Klopp is known to be a big fan, the hitman is ready for Premier League football and the Reds felt they could not hold him back any longer.

Brewster said: "It feels good to be here and I just can't wait to get started.

"There were a few teams who came in but right now Sheffield United are the best option for me. I'll work hard and try and help the team to a higher finish.

"It was good for me [last season at Swansea]. I felt I needed game time and I scored 11 goals in 22 games, which was great.

"But I am not going to dwell on that. This is a new season and I want to come in here and show what I can do."

Although Brewster is known for his goals, his link-up play is also high quality and he showed during his time at Swansea that he is prepared to roll up his sleeves and get stuck in.

While the Blades finished ninth last season, they netted just 39 goals.

Wilder was keen to add more firepower this summer and the addition of such a highly-rated player is a mark of how far the club have come in a short space of time.

Rumour Has It: Man Utd turn to Pochettino, Stones snubs Spurs move

Manchester United had a busy transfer deadline day but it is reported their most significant arrival could be to come.

United completed deals for Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles, Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo before the window closed on Monday.

There is now talk a new manager could be heading for Old Trafford, with Mauricio Pochettino lined up to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

TOP STORY – UNITED TARGET POCH AFTER SPURS BATTERING

Former Tottenham boss Pochettino is a strong favourite to take over as United boss.

The Mirror report that United have made contact with the Argentinian following United's 6-1 home Premier League drubbing at the hands of Spurs on Sunday.

Pochettino was strongly linked with United after Jose Mourinho was sacked in December 2018 but he remained in London.

The 48-year-old has been waiting for the right opportunity to resume his managerial career following his dismissal last November, and that could be at United if Solskjaer loses his job.

ROUND-UP

- John Stones reportedly snubbed a loan move to Tottenham before the window shut. The Daily Star claim Mourinho wanted to take the Manchester City centre-back to the capital on loan for the rest of the season, but he opted to stay put.

- Another defender who rejected a switch to Spurs is Antonio Rudiger, according to The Athletic. Rudiger was said to be concerned about incurring the wrath of Chelsea fans by joining their rivals. Paris Saint-Germain and Roma were also reported to be keen on Rudiger, who ultimately stayed at Stamford Bridge.

- The Manchester Evening News say Eric Garcia missed out on a move to Barcelona because a deal with City could not be reached. Garcia may still get his move at the end of the season, when his contract expires.

- West Ham midfielder Felipe Anderson is set for a loan move to Porto on Tuesday. TalkSPORT say the former Lazio man is on the verge of a switch to Portugal for the remainder of the season.

- Fikayo Tomori pulled out of a loan deal with West Ham just 10 minutes before the window closed, according to Sky Sports. The centre-back will instead try and win his place back at Chelsea.
